◇ image via WikipediaThree 6 Mafia
Three 6 Mafia is a Hip hop and Trap act. Their sound grew out of Geto Boys, Benji Madden, Karl Wolf, 112 and Relativity Records. Those roots explain a lot about how Three 6 Mafia arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Project Pat, DJ Paul, Gangsta Boo, Juicy J and Gangsta Blac, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Key Glock, Deniro Farrar, Gangsta Blac, Kingpin Skinny Pimp and Project Pat, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 70 connections around Three 6 Mafia, reaching back through Geto Boys and forward to Key Glock.
