Tony Iommi is a Heavy metal act. Their sound grew out of John Tempesta, Daniel Pemberton, Glenn Hughes, The Shadows and Django Reinhardt. Those roots explain a lot about how Tony Iommi arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Ozzy Osbourne, Deep Purple, Hollywood Vampires, Geezer Butler and Rainbow, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Skin, Ningen Isu, Kerry King, Under a Pale Grey Sky and Matt Pike, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 53 connections around Tony Iommi, reaching back through John Tempesta and forward to Skin.
