Tycho is a Ambient act. Their sound grew out of Khruangbin, DJ Shadow, Boards of Canada and Ulrich Schnauss. Those roots explain a lot about how Tycho arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Yppah, Ulrich Schnauss, Thrupence, Lusine and Telefon Tel Aviv, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Jaden Smith and Poolside, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 25 connections around Tycho, reaching back through Khruangbin and forward to Jaden Smith.
