Zaz is a Folk and Jazz act. Their catalogue also touches Pop. Their sound grew out of Charles Pasi, Ella Fitzgerald, Enrico Macias, Bobby McFerrin and Richard Bona. Those roots explain a lot about how Zaz arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Vanessa Paradis, Francis Cabrel, Calogero, Julien Doré and Juliette Armanet, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Altogether the chart holds 16 connections around Zaz, reaching back through Charles Pasi. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
