Thank U, Next is the fifth studio album by American singer Ariana Grande. It was released on February 8, 2019, by Republic Records, six months after her fourth studio album, Sweetener (2018). Songwriters and producers that collaborated with Grande on the album included Tommy Brown, Max Martin, Ilya Salmanzadeh and Pop Wansel.

"Love Yourself" is a song recorded by Canadian singer Justin Bieber for his fourth studio album Purpose (2015). The song was released as the album's third official single on November 9, 2015. It was written by Ed Sheeran and Benny Blanco, and produced by the latter. A pop song, "Love Yourself" features an electric guitar and a brief flurry of trumpets as its main instrumentation. During the song, Bieber uses a husky tone in the lower registers. Lyrically, the song is a kiss-off to a narcissistic ex-lover.

"Shake It Off" is a song by the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and the lead single from her fifth studio album, 1989 (2014). She wrote the lyrics by herself and composed the melody with the song's producers, Max Martin and Shellback. The lyrics express Swift's disinterest in her detractors' negative remarks, inspired by her experience with media scrutiny. An uptempo dance-pop song, "Shake It Off" features a looping drum beat, a Mellotron-based saxophone line, and a handclap-accented bridge. Big Machine Records released it on August 18, 2014, to promote 1989 as Swift's first pop album after her previous country-oriented image and sound.

"Never Be Like You" is a song by Australian musician Flume, co-written by and featuring Canadian singer-songwriter Kai. It was released on 16 January 2016, by Future Classic, as the lead single of Flume's second studio album, Skin (2016). A remix by Disclosure was released on 4 March 2016, and a remix EP was released on 25 March 2016.
