Janine Foster, known professionally as Janine, is a New Zealand-born R&B singer, songwriter, and producer. Janine previously performed under the stage name Janine and the Mixtape but changed her stage name to Janine to reflect her sense of growth as an artist. Born in Auckland, Janine began singing at open mics at the age of 14. The New Zealand Music Commission characterised Janine as one of the country's "most accomplished and successful musical exports".

Music of the Sun is the debut studio album by the Barbadian singer Rihanna. It was released on August 29, 2005, by SRP Records and Def Jam Recordings. Prior to signing with Def Jam, Rihanna was discovered by record producers Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers in Barbados, who helped Rihanna record demo tapes to send out to several record labels. Jay-Z, the former chief executive officer (CEO) and president of Def Jam, was given Rihanna's demo by Jay Brown, his A&R at Def Jam, and invited her to audition for the label after hearing the song that would become her first single, "Pon de Replay". She auditioned for Jay-Z and L.A. Reid, the former CEO and president of record label group The Island Def Jam Music Group, and was signed on the spot to prevent her from signing with another record label.

"R U Mine?" is a song by the English indie rock band Arctic Monkeys. It features lyrics written by frontman Alex Turner, as well as music composed by the entire band. The song was released as a digital download in the United Kingdom on 27 February 2012 and was released physically for the Record Store Day on 21 April 2012 on a limited edition double A-side purple 7" vinyl along with new song "Electricity". The vinyl was limited to a run of only 1,750 copies.

Solange Piaget Knowles, also known mononymously as Solange, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She expressed an interest in music from an early age and had temporary stints as a backup dancer for Destiny's Child, which featured her older sister Beyoncé among its members, before signing with their father Mathew Knowles's label, Music World Entertainment. At 16, Knowles released her first studio album Solo Star (2002). She also appeared in the films Johnson Family Vacation (2004), and Bring It On: All or Nothing (2006).
