4hero is a Electronic act. Their sound grew out of Jody Watley, Roy Ayers, Carl Craig, Jazzanova and Roy Ayers Ubiquity. Those roots explain a lot about how 4hero arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Goldie, Photek, LTJ Bukem, Jazzanova and E-Z Rollers, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Goldie and Jill Scott, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 22 connections around 4hero, reaching back through Jody Watley and forward to Goldie.
