Photek

Deep house
Deep houseDrum and bass

Photek is a Deep house and Drum and bass act. Their sound grew out of Nine Inch Nails, Robert Owens, LTJ Bukem, Daft Punk and Moby. Those roots explain a lot about how Photek arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Goldie, LTJ Bukem, E-Z Rollers and Teebee, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Teebee and The Faint, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 15 connections around Photek, reaching back through Nine Inch Nails and forward to Teebee. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
