Nightmares on Wax is a Electronic and Trip hop act. Their sound grew out of Jordan Rakei, RJD2, Curtis Mayfield, Quincy Jones and Jimi Tenor. Those roots explain a lot about how Nightmares on Wax arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Tosca, Thievery Corporation, Lemon Jelly, Groove Armada and Mr. Scruff, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into 4hero, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 19 connections around Nightmares on Wax, reaching back through Jordan Rakei and forward to 4hero.
