Adonis is a Deep house act. Their sound grew out of Larry Heard. Those roots explain a lot about how Adonis arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Armando, Bam Bam, Mike Dunn, DJ Pierre and Marshall Jefferson, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Ron Hardy and Matthew Dear, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 17 connections around Adonis, reaching back through Larry Heard and forward to Ron Hardy.
