Emo

Alesana is a Emo act. Their sound grew out of A Skylit Drive, Drop Dead, Gorgeous, The Browning, Get Scared and Justin Timberlake. Those roots explain a lot about how Alesana arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Hopes Die Last, Drop Dead, Gorgeous, LoveHateHero, Attack Attack! and Escape the Fate, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Blackout, Snow White's Poison Bite, Dance Gavin Dance, LoveHateHero and Enter Shikari, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around Alesana, reaching back through A Skylit Drive and forward to The Blackout. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
