Alexander is a Electronic act. Their sound grew out of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Those roots explain a lot about how Alexander arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Sophie Hunger, Timber Timbre, Andrew Bird and Other Lives, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Panic! at the Disco, Avicii, Cyndi Lauper and John Legend, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around Alexander, reaching back through Willie Nelson and forward to Panic! at the Disco. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
