Boysetsfire is a Hardcore punk act. Their sound grew out of Metallica, Snapcase and The Nation of Ulysses. Those roots explain a lot about how Boysetsfire arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Comeback Kid, Snapcase, Bane, Rise Against and Evergreen Terrace, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Fall Out Boy, Snapcase, Coalesce, Silverstein and Funeral for a Friend, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 17 connections around Boysetsfire, reaching back through Metallica and forward to Fall Out Boy.
