Cazuza is a Rap act. Their sound grew out of Caetano Veloso, Frejat, Barão Vermelho, Raul Seixas and Janis Joplin. Those roots explain a lot about how Cazuza arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Barão Vermelho, Cássia Eller, Legião Urbana, Angela Ro Ro and Lulu Santos, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Bebel Gilberto, Jão, Bersuit Vergarabat, Cássia Eller and Djonga, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 38 connections around Cazuza, reaching back through Caetano Veloso and forward to Bebel Gilberto.
