Cock Robin is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Steve Hillage. Those roots explain a lot about how Cock Robin arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Wet Wet Wet, Mike & The Mechanics, Climie Fisher, Kim Wilde and Gazebo, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into John Mellencamp, Kate Ryan and Daniel Balavoine, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 23 connections around Cock Robin, reaching back through Steve Hillage and forward to John Mellencamp. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
