Dawes

Dawes is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Yola, Graham Nash, Concord Records, David Rawlings and Jonathan Wilson. Those roots explain a lot about how Dawes arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Josh Ritter, Blitzen Trapper, Guster, Nathaniel Rateliff and Blind Pilot, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Jonathan Wilson, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around Dawes, reaching back through Yola and forward to Jonathan Wilson. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
