D'banj

Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&BHip hop

D'banj is a Contemporary R&B and Hip hop act. Their sound grew out of May7ven, Don Jazzy, Omawumi, MzVee and Olamide. Those roots explain a lot about how D'banj arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as 2Baba, P-Square, Olamide, Ice Prince and MAVINS, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Alpha P, May7ven, Don Jazzy, Gucci Mane and Rita Ora, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 37 connections around D'banj, reaching back through May7ven and forward to Alpha P. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
