Dean Blunt

Dean Blunt is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of This Heat, Hyperdub, Bar Italia, Delroy Edwards and A$AP Rocky. Those roots explain a lot about how Dean Blunt arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Bar Italia, You'll Never Get to Heaven, ML Buch, Ariel Pink and Arthur Russell, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into fakemink, A$AP Rocky, Actress and Yves Tumor, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 25 connections around Dean Blunt, reaching back through This Heat and forward to fakemink. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
