Deluxe is a Funk act. Their sound grew out of The Roots, Matthieu Chedid, Serge Gainsbourg, Cannonball Adderley and Pereza. Those roots explain a lot about how Deluxe arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Jain, Cocoon, Lilly Wood & The Prick, Yodelice and Los Planetas, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Pereza, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 23 connections around Deluxe, reaching back through The Roots and forward to Pereza. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
