Electric Wizard is a Doom metal act. Their sound grew out of Trouble, Black Sabbath, Goatsnake and Lee Dorrian. Those roots explain a lot about how Electric Wizard arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Sleep, Acid Bath, Church of Misery, Saint Vitus and Crowbar, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Orange Goblin, 13, Blood Ceremony, Grand Magus and Rise Above Records, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 20 connections around Electric Wizard, reaching back through Trouble and forward to Orange Goblin.
