Freya Ridings is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Luvcat and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Those roots explain a lot about how Freya Ridings arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as London Grammar, Dermot Kennedy, BANNERS, Dean Lewis and Zoe Wees, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Tears for Fears, Tash Sultana, Lewis Capaldi, The Script and OneRepublic, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 28 connections around Freya Ridings, reaching back through Luvcat and forward to Tears for Fears. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
