Gob is a Punk rock act. Their sound grew out of Butch Walker and Sum 41. Those roots explain a lot about how Gob arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Treble Charger, Zebrahead, Sum 41, Lagwagon and Allister, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Avril Lavigne and Sum 41, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around Gob, reaching back through Butch Walker and forward to Avril Lavigne. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
