American Hi-Fi

American Hi-Fi is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Veruca Salt, Letters to Cleo, Toadies, Elliott Smith and Foo Fighters. Those roots explain a lot about how American Hi-Fi arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Sugarcult, The All-American Rejects, Mest, Sum 41 and Allister, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Phantom Planet, Miley Cyrus, Matchbox Twenty, Everclear and Fuel, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 37 connections around American Hi-Fi, reaching back through Veruca Salt and forward to Phantom Planet. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
