Horses is a Garage rock and Punk rock act. Their sound grew out of Carissa's Wierd, Iron & Wine, Archers of Loaf, Modest Mouse and Foo Fighters. Those roots explain a lot about how Horses arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as COOLRUNNINGS, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into R.E.M., where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 9 connections around Horses, reaching back through Carissa's Wierd and forward to R.E.M.. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
