Jon Secada is a Latin pop act. Their sound grew out of Gloria Estefan, Beny Moré, Alejandro Fernández and Emilio Estefan. Those roots explain a lot about how Jon Secada arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Lighthouse Family, Richard Marx, Michael Bolton, Will to Power and Sophie B. Hawkins, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 40 connections around Jon Secada, reaching back through Gloria Estefan and forward to Jennifer Lopez.
