Kara is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Mamma Mia!, Girls' Generation and Face Yourself. Those roots explain a lot about how Kara arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as 9MUSES, T-ara, After School, Brown Eyed Girls and Girl's Day, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Yukika Teramoto and April, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 29 connections around Kara, reaching back through Mamma Mia! and forward to Yukika Teramoto.
