Synth-pop

King is a Synth-pop act. Their sound grew out of Arve Isdal, Corinne Bailey Rae, Backstreet Boys and Vengaboys. Those roots explain a lot about how King arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Thompson Twins, ABC, Go West, Alison Moyet and Kim Wilde, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Altogether the chart holds 17 connections around King, reaching back through Arve Isdal. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
