Macka B is a Dancehall and Reggae act. Their sound grew out of Kofi and Garnett Silk. Those roots explain a lot about how Macka B arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Alborosie, Junior Kelly, Steel Pulse, Sizzla and Wailing Souls, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Mikey Dread, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 23 connections around Macka B, reaching back through Kofi and forward to Mikey Dread.
