Maywood is a Disco act. Their sound grew out of Kayak. Those roots explain a lot about how Maywood arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as F.R. David, Village People, A La Carte, Spargo and Nena, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Gerard Joling, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 25 connections around Maywood, reaching back through Kayak and forward to Gerard Joling.
