Metro Zu is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Lil Peep, Yung Lean, Raider Klan, Denzel Curry and Ski Mask the Slump God. Those roots explain a lot about how Metro Zu arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as SpaceGhostPurrp, Black Kray, Hi-C, Chris Travis and Ethel Wulf, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into XXXTentacion and Lil Peep, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 33 connections around Metro Zu, reaching back through Lil Peep and forward to XXXTentacion. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
