King Krule is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Raveena, Connie Constance, Josef K, Elvis Presley and Gene Vincent. Those roots explain a lot about how King Krule arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Dean Blunt, Good Morning, Mk.gee, Bar Italia and Alex G, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Arlo Parks, Bakar, Mike, Hippo Campus and Metro Zu, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 44 connections around King Krule, reaching back through Raveena and forward to Arlo Parks. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
