Mineral

Mineral is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Sunny Day Real Estate, Catherine Wheel, Sugar, Swervedriver and Buffalo Tom. Those roots explain a lot about how Mineral arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Braid, The Jazz June, Jejune, Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) and Rainer Maria, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Basement, One Step Closer, Empire! Empire!, Dowsing and Turnover, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 38 connections around Mineral, reaching back through Sunny Day Real Estate and forward to Basement. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
