Buffalo Tom

Buffalo Tom is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Belly, Buffalo Springfield, J Mascis, Dinosaur Jr. and Hüsker Dü. Those roots explain a lot about how Buffalo Tom arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Bob Mould, The Lemonheads, Sugar, Afghan Whigs and Throwing Muses, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Mineral and The Inbreds, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 40 connections around Buffalo Tom, reaching back through Belly and forward to Mineral. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
