Minmi is a Electropop and Reggae act. Their sound grew out of Taichi Mukai and Nujabes. Those roots explain a lot about how Minmi arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as MIDICRONICA, Shing02, HOME MADE 家族, Misia and SOULHEAD, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Machel Montano, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 17 connections around Minmi, reaching back through Taichi Mukai and forward to Machel Montano. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
