Shing02

Shing02 is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Nujabes and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Those roots explain a lot about how Shing02 arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Nujabes, Witness, Soul Scream, Five Deez and MIDICRONICA, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Grouch, Five Deez, KK, TOKiMONSTA and Ken Ishii, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 29 connections around Shing02, reaching back through Nujabes and forward to The Grouch. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
