Hip hop

Nujabes is a Hip hop act. Their sound grew out of Fat Jon, Substantial, C.L. Smooth, Gigi Masin and Laurindo Almeida. Those roots explain a lot about how Nujabes arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Fat Jon, Shing02, Witness, Cise Star and Kenichiro Nishihara, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into No Rome, Shing02, Funky DL, SahBabii and DJ Ezasscul, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 42 connections around Nujabes, reaching back through Fat Jon and forward to No Rome. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
