Moderatto is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Sólo Quédate En Silencio, Benny Ibarra, Belinda and Timbiriche. Those roots explain a lot about how Moderatto arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Allison, Elefante, Aleks Syntek, La Gusana Ciega and El Tri, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Belinda, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 26 connections around Moderatto, reaching back through Sólo Quédate En Silencio and forward to Belinda. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
Background
Moderatto was a Mexican rock band from Mexico City, known for their exaggerated on-stage personae that parody the stereotypical 1980s glam metal lifestyle. Moderatto started as a cover band in the late 1990s and released their debut CD Resurrexíon in 2001. The band has been successful since then, with three of their first five albums being awarded platinum.
