Morgan Heritage is a Reggae act. Their sound grew out of Denroy Morgan, Singing Melody, Kofi, Buju Banton and Iration. Those roots explain a lot about how Morgan Heritage arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Sizzla, Tarrus Riley, Duane Stephenson, Beres Hammond and Christopher Martin, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into LMS, Alaine, Stonebwoy, Irie Love and India.Arie, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 39 connections around Morgan Heritage, reaching back through Denroy Morgan and forward to LMS. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
