MUNA

MUNA is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Sofi Tukker, Britney Spears, Alanis Morissette, P-Square and Phoebe Bridgers. Those roots explain a lot about how MUNA arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Maggie Rogers, King Princess, Snail Mail, Betty Who and Ryan Beatty, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker and Tegan and Sara, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around MUNA, reaching back through Sofi Tukker and forward to Phoebe Bridgers. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
