◇ image via WikipediaSnail Mail
Snail Mail is a Indie rock act. Their sound grew out of Lana Del Rey, My Bloody Valentine, Sheer Mag, Kurt Vile and Steve Gunn. Those roots explain a lot about how Snail Mail arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Ratboy, Wednesday, Slow Pulp, Remember Sports and Alvvays, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Snarls, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 52 connections around Snail Mail, reaching back through Lana Del Rey and forward to Snarls. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
