Nigga

Nigga is an act on the Starverb influence map. They run in the same orbit as Makano, Flex, Eddy Lover, Don Omar and Luny Tunes, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Alexis & Fido, Juan Luis Guerra, Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel and Sean Kingston, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around Nigga and forward to Alexis & Fido. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.

Background

Félix Danilo Gómez Bosquez, known by his stage name Flex, is a Panamanian reggaeton singer. He originally adopted the name Nigga after being told by another Panamanian artist that he "sings like a black guy from Jamaica." Before releasing his debut album in the United States in 2010, Flex removed references to his nickname in songs, and his albums were reissued with the new name, "Flex".
