Ookay is a Dubstep act. Their sound grew out of A-Trak, Slushii and Avicii. Those roots explain a lot about how Ookay arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as San Holo, RL Grime, Alison Wonderland, Jauz and Marshmello, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Showtek, Diplo, Marshmello, Noah Cyrus and Flux Pavilion, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 21 connections around Ookay, reaching back through A-Trak and forward to Showtek.
