Showtek is a Techno act. Their sound grew out of Magic!, Tiësto, Hardwell, Bassjackers and Ookay. Those roots explain a lot about how Showtek arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Headhunterz, Noisecontrollers, Coone, Project One and Radical Redemption, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Headhunterz and Bassjackers, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 24 connections around Showtek, reaching back through Magic! and forward to Headhunterz.
