Patty Gurdy is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Ed Sheeran. Those roots explain a lot about how Patty Gurdy arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Faun, Colm R. McGuinness, Santiano, The Arcadian Wild and Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Faun, Fiddler's Green, Alestorm, Ayreon and Marko Hietala, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 15 connections around Patty Gurdy, reaching back through Ed Sheeran and forward to Faun. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
