Ed Sheeran

FolkHip hopHouse

Ed Sheeran is a Folk and Hip hop act. Their catalogue also touches House, Pop and Rock. Their sound grew out of Love Me Like You Do, Mr. Brightside, Fix You, Kandi Burruss and Fireboy DML. Those roots explain a lot about how Ed Sheeran arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Lewis Capaldi, James Arthur, Myles Smith, James Bay and Shawn Mendes, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Collective, Anuel AA, Dance Monkey, Love Yourself and 3T, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 148 connections around Ed Sheeran, reaching back through Love Me Like You Do and forward to The Collective. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
