Sabaton is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Raubtier, Delain, Evergrey, Blind Guardian and Patty Gurdy. Those roots explain a lot about how Sabaton arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Brothers of Metal, Orden Ogan, Alestorm, DragonForce and Dream Evil, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Beast in Black, Suzuka Nakamoto, Amaranthe, Apocalyptica and Lordi, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 45 connections around Sabaton, reaching back through Raubtier and forward to Beast in Black. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
