◇ image via WikipediaMoby
Moby is a Ambient and Electronic act. Their catalogue also touches Punk rock, Rap and Techno. Their sound grew out of Junior Jack, serpentwithfeet, Marsheaux, Fuck Buttons and C. J. Bolland. Those roots explain a lot about how Moby arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Groove Armada, Air, Enigma, Massive Attack and Delerium, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Bleu noir, AFX, Dieselboy, Photek and Joachim Garraud, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 111 connections around Moby, reaching back through Junior Jack and forward to Bleu noir. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
