Pinback is a Indie rock act. Their sound grew out of Three Mile Pilot and Against Me!. Those roots explain a lot about how Pinback arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Rob Crow, The American Analog Set, Ugly Casanova, Heatmiser and Minus the Bear, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Brand New, Honeyglaze, Victims Family and Terraplana, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around Pinback, reaching back through Three Mile Pilot and forward to Brand New. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
