Against Me!

Punk rock
Punk rock

Against Me! is a Punk rock act. Their sound grew out of Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Hot Water Music, Letters to Cleo, Billy Talent and Cœur de pirate. Those roots explain a lot about how Against Me! arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Defiance, Ohio, The Menzingers, Off with Their Heads, AJJ and Alkaline Trio, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Destroy Boys, Future of the Left, July Talk, AJJ and The Menzingers, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 39 connections around Against Me!, reaching back through Ted Leo and the Pharmacists and forward to Destroy Boys.
