Primal Fear is a Heavy metal act. Their sound grew out of Running Wild, Helloween, U.D.O., Sin After Sin and Mägo de Oz. Those roots explain a lot about how Primal Fear arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Iron Savior, Dream Evil, Helloween, Grave Digger and Firewind, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Dragony, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 28 connections around Primal Fear, reaching back through Running Wild and forward to Dragony.
